PROJECT OVERVIEW

An Identity Fit For Celebration

Plastic A Designs was hired to help guide the expression and creative direction of a first of its kind event in Des Moines, IA. An event that would celebrate the accomplishments and talents of Latino filmmakers locally and abroad. It was a privilege and honor we took seriously as we prepared to jump into researching typography, patterns, iconography, messaging, and color palettes found throughout Latino history in the midwest. It isn't a coincidence that we built the brand around the colors of red, white, and blue. During the R&D process, the surrounding current events were deafening. Caged children, mass deportation, family's destroyed...all over the question of citizenship and rising support for white supremacy. The final result you see here is a direct reaction to the content of the art being presented, the immediate need to present a message of unity, and the unwavering strength of Des Moines' Latino community across all generations.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT

Sponsorship Booklet

A Vehicle To Drive Home The Message

Our approach to the sponsorship booklet for the Des Moines Latino Film Festival was broken into three parts. First and foremost, we needed to captivate an audience typically inundated with requests fundraising requests. The narrative had to be succinct, empathetic, and joyful with some solid research sprinkled in to ensure there was indeed an audience to serve. Secondly, we developed a message and graphical system that could engage and activate the imaginations of the potential donors we were after. Lastly, and most importantly, we structured a tiered sponsorship approach packed with opportunities for big and small businesses to promote their brands on the platform while simultaneously respecting the autonomy of the film festival's brand and its message to the Des Moines community.
