We never thought we would find ourselves agreeing with the art superstar Andy Warhol, but yeah... thirty are better than one.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

A World Overrun By Images...Sounds About Right.

Excerpt From Images Unbound Exhibition Guide. Written By Exhibition Curator, Mia Laufer

From news, film and television, and social media to the countless photos stored on our phones, we are constantly surrounded by pictures. With the invention of photography in the 19th century, people began living in a world of images. Continued advances in camera technology and the invention of film have radically changed our relationship to art, visual culture, and the world around us. Throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, artists have explored the consequences and opportunities that arise when visual culture becomes untethered from its original context and helped us navigate a world where images are always on the move.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
Exhibition Collateral

Presenting A Unique Identity Utilizing Multiple Languages.

Readability. Inclusion. Play. These were the conceptual anchor points guiding our approach to the exhibition guide for the Des Moines Art Center's exhibition, Images Unbound. We had a strict page count that needed to simultaneously present a vast array of images from the exhibition and double up on both Spanish and English translations of the essay text. The end result provided a solution that contained both translations within the same space, presented a simple navigation through the visual language saturating the show, and above all, maintained the playful banter needed to keep the viewer and user engaged in the exhibition's purpose.
